Major: Integrated Marketing Communications
Hometown: Holliston, MA
Her Campus Ithaca College:Â How did you first get involved with Her Campus Ithaca?Â
Kaitlyn Willis: My neighbors in Rowland (tbt) were involved in it. I’ve also always been interested in blogging so I decided to join!
HCIC:Â What is your role in Her Campus?Â
KW:Â I am a writer and the marketing and publicity director. It’s nice to apply my skills from my IMC classes to my passions in both writing and marketing.
HCIC:Â What is your favorite part about Her Campus?Â
KW:Â (Besides the great people)Â I get to be creative in what I write about. I also love that I can take my own pictures and include them in the articles. Photography is another interest of mine!
HCIC:Â What other clubs or organizations are you apart of?Â
KW: This semester I joined HiFashion Studios as a writer for its magazine and as a model for the fashion show. There are so many positions, so it’s very open and inviting just like Her Campus!
HCIC:Â When you have free time (if you have free time) what do you like to do?Â
KW: I like to watch British YouTubers vlog about their lives that are more exciting than mine, play video games (Legend of Zelda is my favorite), or go out on the weekends and dance with my friends!
HCIC:Â How was being a part of HiFashion? What did you do, and what did it feel like?
KW:Â It was so fun! I had the freedom to decide what to write about for magazine articles, I helped organize a photoshoot to create a lookbook, and I walked the catwalk for the fashion show. I’VE NEVER MODELED BEFORE IN MY LIFE! It really boosted my confidence. My heart was pounding before my first walk, but when I got up there, I was the most confident I’d ever been. It’s just about having fun and expressing yourself. I’d recommend trying it for anyone that is interested! I also got great ideas for outfits to buy, too!
HCIC: If you could give your freshman-self advice knowing everything you’ve learned up unto this point, what would that advice be?Â
KW:Â You can be anyone you want to be. You don’t have to follow the path of another IMC student. There are so many options for you, so start researching different clubs!
