Her Campus Ithaca College: What’s the best part about wrestling for Ithaca?
Nick Vogel: Being a part of a team that is as close as we are. Our team is really like a family. We all have the same goals and in a sport as grueling as wrestling you need guys that are going to always be behind you.
HCIC: What has wrestling taught you?
NV: The biggest things wrestling has taught me are discipline and how to be self-motivated. It’s you against another guy who wants to beat you just as bad as you want to beat him. The winner is going to be the person who worked the hardest. If you lose, you have no one to blame but yourself, and it’s up to you to work harder for the next time. That’s a mentality that I will carry with me my entire life.
HCIC: What do you see yourself doing with (your major)?
NV: First I want get my roots in a big name company to learn the “tricks of the trade” of the business world, but eventually I want to own my own business.
HCIC: Where did you take your girlfriend out on your first date?
NV: Viva
HCIC: What do you look for in a girl?
NV: I look for a girl with a genuine personality, naturally good looking and a good student (athlete is a bonus). Also, someone with a good sense of humor and that likes to have fun (cute laugh along with a nice smile are bonuses). Basically, I look for a girl that can keep up with me on the weekends but also enjoys nights of just laying around watching movies.
HCIC: Where is your favorite place to eat in the Ithaca Commons?
NV: Asian Cuisine
HCIC: Who is your celebrity crush?
NV: Jennifer Aniston
HCIC: If a movie were to be made about your life, who would play you?
NV: My friends said Chris Pine.
HCIC: Cats or dogs?
NV: Dogs…by far.
