Healthier Gingerbread Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3/4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup malaces
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

Directions:

  1. First, combine and stir the butter, brown sugar and apple sauce.
  2. Then, add and stir your egg and malaces.
  3. Combine, in a seperate bowl: flour, ginger, allspice, baking soda, ground cinnamon and ground cloves.
  4. Then, mix your dry ingredients with your wet ingredients until you have your dough.
  5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for two hours.
  6. After the two hours, take it out of the fridge and roll the dough (you can use flour to soften, if needed).
  7. Once the dough is rolled out, cut out your gingerbread shapes. 
  8. Put it in the oven for about 15 minutes.
  9. Decorate with any icing!

Peppermint, White Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups milk
  • 8 oz. white chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
  • Whipped cream & sprinkles

Directions:

  1. First, heat up the milk in a saucepan.
  2. Add white chocolate chips and stir until the chocolate has completely melted.
  3. Add vanilla and peppermint extract.
  4. Pour into a mug and add whipped cream and sprinkles!

Heart Shaped Candy Cane Chocolate Lollipops:

Materials:

  • Scissors
  • Long lollipop sticks
  • Baking sheet
  • Saucepan

Ingredients: 

  • Candy canes
  • White or milk chocolate
  • Sprinkles

Directions:

  1. First, melt the chocolate in the saucepan.
  2. Use the scissors to cut the candy canes into heart shapes and lay them flat onto the baking sheet.
  3. Then, lay the lollipop sticks in the middle of the hearts – starting from the top of the heart.
  4. Pop the melted chocolate into the freezer for five to seven minutes.
  5. Then, pour the choclate inside each of the candy cane hearts.
  6. Put on as many sprinkles as desired on top of the choclate.
  7. Put it in the freezer and your done!
