David Piercy is not only a campus cutie, but also a star on the IU Diving team. He holds two pool records: the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard. Bonus: this campus celebrity is single!
Â
David is a 23-year-old senior from Fort Wayne, Ind. who is majoring in graphic design.
He has been diving for about 10 years, and he practices twice a day for about two hours per practice. Now, thatâs commitment!
Â
Whatâs Davidâs favorite part about diving? âBeing able to do all these flips and twists, and then showing them off to people,â he says. âI also like my teammates and how they are some of my best friends outside of the pool.â
Â
David says his greatest accomplishments so far include breaking two IU records, becoming a national finalist, and winning the National Championship this past summer with his team.
Â
When heâs not diving at the pool, you can find him playing the guitar, piano or video games with his roommate.Â
Â
After college, David says he âwants to get a job with a big company that designs new products such as appliances, watches, etc.â Â
Â
David also says he loves to read non-fiction books at Barnes and Noble, and go boating with friends on Lake Lemon when the weather is nice.
Â
As far as girls are concerned, he likes a girl that is sarcastic and can be herself around him, not someone who tries to be someone else in order to impress him.
Â
Although he does want to be somewhat attracted physically to a girl, he says he doesnât usually like hot girls because they usually have way too many issues involving insecurity.
Â
âI would take a cute down to earth girl over the âhottestâ girl in the world anytime,â David says.
