What’s In Her Bag?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IU chapter.

Rachel, a 20 year-old sophomore majoring in art history and Spanish shows Her Campus IU the every day essentials she keeps in her purse.

The Houston native received this hot pink leather Tory Burch Reva clutch in the mail as a belated holiday gift from an aunt. “I’ve worn this bag at least once a week since getting it,” Rachel says.
As for the gift card, Rachel says,“Urban Outfitters is my favorite store in Bloomington. I’ve been using it to buy clothes all year.” The gift card was found in her Coach wallet, a gift from another aunt. “Obviously my favorite color is pink,” Rachel says. The white Chanel watch was a gift from Rachel’s grandmother. “I never wear it because it’s too heavy for me, but I carry it around with me because I like it anyway,” she says.

“I like Bobbi Brown because her products make you look young and natural,” Rachel says of her Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation. “This fits my skin tone much better than other brands I’ve tried and it lasts a long time.” Rachel’s other beauty essentials include Nars Lipstick in Shrinagar, Carmex lip balm, a hair clip, and Clinique Long Last Glosswear in Tenderheart.

The Three Weavers is my favorite story – I carry it around with me as a reminder to be careful with and be open to new people,” Rachel says of the photocopied, spiral edition we found in her bag. “My mom gave it to me.” Rachel also carries several Family Circus cartoons her aunt has sent her over the years. “They remind her of my family because I have two brothers.” Never without her iPhone 4, Rachel uses the device to talk to her friends and family in Texas. “I’m probably on my phone once every 15 minutes.”

“I have the calculator because I’m taking Finite right now,” Rachel says. “I absolutely hate it.” She decompresses by playing racquetball at the SRSC – with a hot pink ball, of course. For a quick snack on the go, Rachel turns to Pop-Tarts. “The strawberry kind are my favorite, but they run out really fast in my house,” she says. “I’m lucky when I get them.”
