Now, I’m not one of those girls that walk around without deodorant. I can also say I’ve been through a lot of brands that do not work and I am on the hunt to find the perfect one for people like me. What I mean by that is, as I have said in previous articles, I am not a cold person. I am always hot so I sweat a lot, therefore, I need deodorant to function.
However, some deodorants don’t even stay on for an hour. Now, this is all dependent on the factors involved such as the temperature of outside, amount of work, and type of deodorant. Why does this matter? Well, if you are using a lightweight gel deodorant and you are in 98-degree heat walking all day, then you are going to have to reapply multiple times. This is terrible especially when you’re out in public and have to reapply because you have to leave and go to a bathroom to put it on and you have to lug it around all day. I have two brands that work the best for me and those are Degree and Secret.
First off Secret. Secret has been a long friend of mine since I turned 10 and let me tell you, she lasts FOREVER. I put Secret on in the morning and it lasts through my shower until the next day around lunchtime. I have shaved my pits before and literally still have smelled it. This stuff is amazing! Going out and casual days, even hot days BUT it is not good for long wear if you are very active. It’ll last before and about an hour after active workouts but after that, you’ll need to reapply. When I walk on a hot day through campus all day I have to reapply at night.
Next, we have Degree. Degree used to be a long-lost friend and there are two types: the type that’s in the solid blue tube and the opaque light blue tube that’s textured. The solid blue tube is the worst thing ever. For people like me, it lasts 15 minutes and then you smell pitty again. However, her sister is a dream. It is long-lasting for activewear so it stays on through activity. I’ve just recently started using it. I’ll let you know if anything changes but for now, I love it! Degree also has a spray deodorant and it SLAPS.
This brings me to my next thing: textures. Gel and spray-on are a NO-NO for girls like me! Why? The gel dries and then it’s like it was never there. Spray-on is very similar. The thing with Degree is that it’s spray-on, but it’s not dry; it’s a wet kind like a stick is. Gel is terrible because it makes the pit of your shirt wet and then it already looks like you have a pit stain before your day already started. These are my opinions and you may have different views but this is my best deodorant and experiences based on my body type and type of day. It’s hard for someone like me to find the perfect one but these come close!
“Why don’t they make an “always moist girl” deodorant type” :'(
