Meet Alesia Daly! She is a sophomore early childhood education and special education major from Tyrone, PA. Â She decided to come to IUP because she loved the atmosphere and thought that it was very homey. Her favorite thing to do on campus is to sit in the Oak Grove when the weather is nice and do homework or read a book. She also likes to hang out with friends and get a volleyball game going.
Alesia is active in the Council for Exceptional Children, which is a club that interacts with people with disabilities and they create events for them, including a winter formal. They work with Best Buddies and help spread awareness of autism by doing fundraisers and planning different movie nights, and events like that.
Alesia has been working with kids since she was in middle school and hasn’t stopped since. In middle school, she baby sat, and in high school she worked with elementary school students with peer tutoring. Now, Alesia works as a paraprofessional with children from 6 months to 12 years. She knew she wanted to work with children when she was in high school. When she started taking the education classes at IUP, her passion grew.
Alesia is a very lovable person and she is super supportive, funny, and sweet. If you ever want to start up a conversation with her, just mention Joseph Gordon-Levitt, she loves him.
Don’t miss out on the amazing things that Alesia is doing here at IUP!
