Okay, so every year for Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, Halloween, and any other holiday possible, Reese’s releases their signature shapes of the peanut butter cups. These shapes are pictures below and include trees, pumpkins, hearts, and eggs. I know some people are allergic to peanut butter but let me tell you, I KNOW that there is a huge difference between the shapes and cups and I highly recommend you try them and taste it for yourself (unless you’re allergic) but trust me! I’ve gotten these for every holiday and I prefer the shapes better.
Now I know that there are avid Reese’s cups eater and if you are, I have some questions. Do you ever get the shapes? Are they better? If you answered “yes” to these questions, then you just validated my theory. I know it’s weird to think about something like this. Like, what does it have to do with me? The answer is…IT DEPENDS! If you love Reese’s like me then I want you to get the best experience possible for your buck. If you hate Reese’s this isn’t for you but I couldn’t imagine someone that dislikes them reading this at the moment because it wouldn’t be relevant to them.

So, Reese’s cup lovers, ask yourself, am I living my life to the full potential? If you don’t get the most value for your dollar then you’re not! Now, this is only my theory. I can tell you though that from my 20 years of experience in the Reese’s game that my honest opinion is the shapes are better. Here’s why though, and you see I have a couple of arguments:

- The shapes are made fresher! Think about it: are they going to make pumpkins for Halloween in January? I don’t work for Reese’s. but it doesn’t sound economically sound due to a shorter sell-by date so they would go bad faster for the consumer.
- The cups seem to have harder chocolate compared to the shapes. I don’t know if it is just me but I feel like the chocolate they use on the edge of the cups (the ridged part) is much “waxier” than the shapes. I don’t know if the formulas are different but the shapes melt in your mouth, they are creamy, and they feel bigger.
- Something negative about the shapes though is that they only come in one pack. Now, since they’re bigger I feel like they make up for it, but the thought of getting two cups as opposed to one shape for a similar price seems like robbery.

Overall, everyone will just have to go out and taste the difference themselves. This is completely my opinion and some people may say the complete opposite.
