The flowers are blooming, the leaves are starting to reappear and the sun is making its best attempt to come out in between the rain and cloudy weather. All of these signs point to it being spring in Indiana, Pennsylvania. As you adjust to IUP’s constant-changing weather and prepare for finals week, it’s important to take the time to relax and have a little fun. HerCampus has you covered as we’ve come up with several things you can do this spring.
Take a Yoga Class
This time of year can be really stressful as the semester comes to a close. You may feel like your to-do-list grows a little bit longer each day. With finals/summer/graduation coming up, it’s expected that you are going to encounter more work than usual. If you want to relax and clear your head, taking a yoga class may be just the fix your mind and body needs. Sunflower Yoga Studio on Philly Street offers a selection of classes with different skill levels and you can take a class for $5.00 if you use your campus special coupon book or mobile app for Iphone or Android.
Show Your School Spirit
Now that the weather is nicer, grab a couple friends and go cheer on the sports teams. You can check out the school’s athletic website http://www.iupathletics.com/index.aspx to find schedules of all the different sports going on right now whether it’s baseball, lacrosse, softball, track and more!
Study/Read Outside
Instead of feeling guilty for being inside studying on a gorgeous day, take your work and do it outside instead. Now that you no longer are forced to sit in the library or your room you may as well soak up the sun! The Oak Grove is the perfect place to bring your homework or get lost in a book- and maybe even do a little people watching.
Chill at the Co-Op Park
The park, which offers a picnic pavilion, fishing pond, softball fields, a sand volleyball court and fitness course is only a few miles away from campus and is owned by IUP. Everyone can find something they like to do there and it’s a perfect way to relieve some stress and wind down with friends.
Treat Yourself to a Frozen Treat
Head over to Meadows Frozen Custard and Yogurt on Oakland Avenue to grab a snack and take a study break. They have a wide range  of flavors including chocolate peanut butter cup and cookie dough arctic swirl. The prices are very reasonable and affordable for college kids on a tight budget.Â
Attend a Show
There are all kinds of different shows you can see here on campus depending on what your interests are. If you enjoy in fashion you can attend the Girls Run the World Fashion Show this Saturday the 27th.
