My favorite holiday that I get to celebrate each year with my grandpa is Veterans Day. As a Vietnam army veteran, my grandpa is an amazing inspiration and one of my heroes. I hope everybody that served or that is serving has a good day, because without you we would not have been able to have the chances and opportunities which we have been given today. Here are a couple of songs that make me proud and help us remember what these brave men and women gave for us. I hope that if you see a vet you shake their hand, say thank you, or just respect them. These people have given their lives for our country and that is the most honorable thing somebody can do in my opinion.
- “Courtesy of the red, white, and blue”- Toby Keith

This song is so powerful! Toby talks about how people in the military would give and have given their lives for the country. I think that this song helps symbolize respect and emphasizes how we should be giving them more. His father served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. His father is truly a hero and should be honored. This song is so powerful and I just love the meaning behind it.
- “Just a dream”- Carrie underwood
-
Just a dream is about a wife that is married to a military man that gets deployed into an active war zone. He promised her forever but was taken to war. This song is extremely sad and the music video rips my heart apart. It displays the hardship of committing to someone in the military only for them to end up risking their life for our country. This happens every day in war; someone loses a loved one and we lose a hero. Definitely give this a listen to, it is a very emotional song that is very powerful.
- “Mr. Red, white, and blue” – coffey anderson

This song is very new and very good. Coffey Anderson is just becoming big and this song is so inspiring and important to a lot of families. Coffey was sweet enough to go to the funerals of the 13 soldiers we lost in the war recently and sing his song or amazing grace at. This is such a kind and selfless thing to do and I respect him very much for this. This song is so sad and so meaningful. Well worth a listen!
