From the BEYOND awkward conversations to the horrible group and one-on-one dates, this season of The Bachelorette has “left a bad taste in my mouth”, as Yosef once said.  Don’t get me wrong, I love a good season of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, but THIS season is the farthest thing from good.
The first episode of the season seemed normal enough (despite the added challenges due to being in the middle of a pandemic), but it just went downhill from there.  As always, there were some weird introductions and an uncomfortable amount of the men weren’t wearing socks with their dress pants (gross).  And after meeting Dale, Clare claimed to feel like she had “just met her husband”.  I honestly should have stopped watching after that.
The next episode featured a group date where the men played “strip dodgeball” and Clare acted as a referee, telling the men what pieces of clothing to remove (talk about degrading). Clare received a lot of hate for this specific date and continues to get hate for running off with Dale every chance she gets. Â She acts as if she and Dale are already dating, giving none of the other men the time of day and sending them home for knowing nothing about her (she was on Juan Pablo’s season). Â
I think the thing that bothers me the most about Clare is the fact that she doesn’t enforce any rules that have ALWAYS been in place for the show and she continues to ignore the men who have given up a lot to get to know her.  And don’t even get me started on the “miscommunication” with Zach J.  This season has been unfair to the men since the beginning and I’m not surprised that Clare’s portion of the season is basically over before it even started.  I love watching this show when The Bachelorette is a strong independent woman (example: Hannah Brown), and not when it’s a woman who is selfish and blames the men for her inability to admit that she wants to be with Dale.
Can we get our girl Tayshia out here already?
