Since 2015 we have been blessed with the creative musical masterpiece that is Hamilton. A wonderful history lesson by Lin-Manuel Miranda that has me loving history a lot more than I did in high school, but will I ever get sick of it? It seems every month I get into a groove of strictly listening to the soundtrack from the musical. I just need to know if there will ever be a moment where I don’t relive the story of tonight.
Hamilton is a Broadway musical that in the height(s) of the pandemic Disney brought onto their streaming platform Disney+. This allowed us to bring live entertainment to the public, which boosted morale for a lot of people. Lin-Manuel Miranda has done countless other scores such as Moana, Mary Poppins, In The Heights, and also acted in TV shows such as Brooklynn Nine-Nine, Bojack Horseman, and Ducktales. He won both a Tony and Pulitzer prize for his fantastic work. It’s no wonder each time I take a break I find myself listening and singing along.
With other musicals taking their shot on the big screen such as In The Heights, another Hamilton musical, and Dear Evan Hansen it is likely we will see more coming in the next few years. The one thing I fear is a new musical wouldn’t be enough and I’d still revert back to wishing I was in the room where it happens.
