Name a time in IUP history when a few students came together for a class to bring to IUP Hip Hop’s Biggest Bash. This has never happened and may never happen again.
On Saturday November 9, 2013 WIUP presents The Underground Live. The concert will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the HUB’s Delaware Room. Rappers Soul, Moya, Taylor Marie, RKS, and Dubby of Team Loko are all set to perform at the event which will be emceed by K Starr.
This show came about through Dr. B. Gail Wilson’s Communications Media Promotions for radio, cable, and television course, where students are required to create an event promoting the radio station.
Under the surname Executive Entertainment, group members Kayla King Scott, Matt Bullions, Angela Toroian, Caleb Joyce, and Sarah Davids wanted to bring a fun event on campus, have a good time, and show off what was learned throughout the course.
This could only be pulled off by planning a “Great Gatsby” party turned concert which could only be pulled off by bringing the best of IUP.
When planning this event, Executive Entertainment made sure to find the best in Moya, Taylor Marie, RKS, Dubby, and Soul.
These performers have extended from not just IUP, but beyond. They have opened up for Big Sean, MGK, Tyga, B.O.B., and many more. Now, it’s their time to bring the talent back home.
Moya, who also goes by Magic, makes sure to put magic in all of his music and this can be seen in several of his club bangers. For students that went to Punxy, his song Gotta Love College made it’s mark on campus.
Taylor Marie is far from a soft rapper. Make sure you come see her since she’s pushing her way to becoming the queen of Hip-Hop. This girl has bars and can spit them right on the spot.
RKS is so hungry to get to the level he wants to be on, he has a YouTube channel which is updated with new music every Monday.
Who care about getting turnt up when Dubby is the king of going Loko? Dubby is pushing his way to the top not only through his music, but also through his Loko apparel.
Soul, who has also been previously featured as a Campus Cutie, is a real boss… a mogul in the making, a fact that can be seen in all of his work from music to videos.
Not only will students get the best of IUP Entertainment, there will also be free food and giveaways.
The event is sponsored by Chipotle, the Co-Op Store, The Official College Life, Copies Plus, and Her Campus.
Once you’ve been to The Underground Live, tune into WIUP’s The Underground Monday- Friday from 10 p.m.to 12 a.m.
