What is your position in SUPB and how are you loving it?
This year I am the Major Events coordinator for SUPB. I LOVE SUPB because not only does it provide the best stuff to do on-campus, it is also a great learning tool. I am handy with on-campus publicity and posting laws now and I navigate R25 pretty easily. You know, necessary life skills. (But really, I am learning A LOT)

What is Carroll Fest?
Carroll Fest is a day for local bands, free food, and hanging out. There will be tie dye, Barrio Taco’s, Papa Nick’s Italian Food Truck (Meatballs on a stick!!!!), volleyball, Kettle Corn, and a photobooth. It is April 25th from 2-11 pm in Keller Commons/the quad! There are volunteers for the day of, but we just want people to come and have a good time! The first 45 people will receive a limited edition Carroll Fest Beach towel! Be there or be square!

How do you get everything together?
The committee applications began in February, and from there we started reaching out to local bands. Once that application process is over, we begin to look at the other types of things going on during the day: food, swag, and activities. Once those are decided on, it’s just a matter of going through and figuring out how to actually pull the whole thing off! It’s been great working with my committee (Olivia Ruse, Paul Frye, Cooper Oexle, and Megan Goedeker)

Can you tell us who will be featured at Carroll Fest?
Our current line up is as follows:
ITEM
EVOLUTION
ESSENTIAL GROOVE
Ryan Brown and Friends
Justin SHUTTLEWORTH
Sweepyheads
NORTHERN WHALE

We are so excited to have everyone performing! The bands are mostly local (JCU students or friends of JCU students). We definitely suggest looking them up before their performance on Saturday!

How can someone get involved with Carroll Fest/SUPB?
It is SO easy to get involved. SUPB meets at 9 pm in the Jardine Room on Tuesdays at 9 pm. We are always looking for new ideas and extra help. To get involved with Major events, and Carroll Fest specifically, reach out to me at spoppe17@jcu.edu, and we can definitely chat! SUPB is such a great organization for anyone looking to get more involved on campus!
