This December I graduated a semester early after majoring in accounting and Italian studies. I have a full-time job starting in February, but until then, I have a month to kill while working at my old high school job in the Panera Bread drive-thru, all while living at home with my parents. It should also be noted that my parents do not double as close friends, so I’ve had to find other things to occupy my free time.Â

I’ve lacked a casual hobby in my life for a while now. I tend to spend the majority of my free time watching YouTube and TikTok’s, which is arguably a huge waste of time (and probably not great for my mental health).

Even though I have an accounting degree, from a young age I really enjoyed art and thought I had a natural talent for it. I took a 3D art class senior year of high school and fell in love with pottery, but haven’t had the money to get back into it. Junior year of college I took a basic drawing class and clearly put way more time into it than everyone else and most of my drawings came out really well. Since then I’ve really been eyeing embroidery as a low-risk artistic hobby to get into. I have watched a single YouTube video on types of stitches and am just making it up as I go.

I needed some nonsense content to watch while embroidering which led to me scouring Netflix for a new show. The two I’ve recently chosen are Total Drama Island and Scooby-Doo, with Scooby-Doo as an easy front runner, highly recommend.
I’m sure you can tell my 2020 is off to a wild start, and I’m really living it up as a recently graduated 21-year-old.Â
