On Sept. 6, John Carroll University inaugurated its 25th president, Michael D. Johnson. Students and faculty were all informed of the event months in advance, and were excited to witness an important moment in JCU history. The inauguration was on the same day as the yearly Holy Spirit mass, creating a day filled with events and festivities. Classes were canceled up until 3:30, allowing students to attend this significant event without fear of missing class.
The ceremony itself was beautiful, as the church choir was present, the rain held out and the turnout was pretty decent. Once President Johnson delivered his speech and the inauguration ended, it seemed as though the entire campus flocked to Schott Dining Hall for a free meal — perhaps the most anticipated event of the day.
