Student Profile: Meet Caitlin Glennon

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JCU chapter.

Ladies and gentlemen of John Carroll University, have you met the amazing Caitlin Glennon? She is a sophomore here and has already started two clubs on campus! Get to know more about her below:

Name: Caitlin Glennon

Year: Sophomore

Major: Political Science and Sociology and Criminology: Forensic Behavioral Studies

Hometown: Elk Grove Village, IL

Campus Involvement: Arrupe Scholars — Vice Chair of the 5k committee for Arrupe, President and Founder of Criminology Association, President and Founder of the JCU chapter of Habitat for Humanity, member of Kappa Delta.

HC: What’s your favorite spot on campus?

CG: The window seats in Admin because when it’s sunny in the winter you can feel the natural warmth.

Do you have a favorite class or professor?

SC-215 which was Individual and Society. It was a sociological social psychology class and it was very interesting because it dealt with broad sociological concepts on an individual level. Dr. Barnes taught it who is also my favorite professor because she is engaging and adjusts to student learning styles. I also enjoyed Compartive Politics (PO-102) because I got to learn about the political structures of other countries which was also very interesting.

What’s your go-to meal in the caf?

Chicken noodle soup with added salt. It consistently tastes the same and it’s actually good.

What legacy do you hope to leave at JCU?

Since I am the founder and president of Criminology Association and Habitat for Humanity, I hope that these clubs become a long lasting relationship with the community. Criminology Association seeks to match members with potential employers and give them unique opportunities to work with these professionals and get an added edge. I hope that the club becomes successful and makes John Carroll stand out in this field.

If you could be anything you wanted, what would it be?

Definitely a character in the Divergent Series or the Percy Jackson series. I loved those books and think it would be so exciting to exist in places like that.
