On April 5th, the superhero movie genre is getting its next installment, “Shazam!” In a crazy new twist, DC is going to try something it has never done before: make a kid-friendly, light-hearted comedy. Seriously, this movie looks “Ant-Man” level in terms of playfulness, and our protagonist is a literal 15-year-old. This will undoubtedly lead to an unprecedented amount of jokes for a DC movie. Anyway, it also will probably prompt fans everywhere to randomly say “shazam” just for fun. This is what fans do. It’s an unstoppable force. So instead of denying the inevitable, I thought that we could examine some of the other times that a superhero movie has brought us a nice catchphrase. And now, on with the countdown.

Black Panther: “Wakanda Forever!”

Batman: “I’m Batman.”

Superman: “Truth, justice, and the American way.”

Spider-Man: “It’s your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!”

Magneto (X-Men): “Mankind has always feared what it doesn’t understand.”

Wonder Woman: “I’m willing to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.”

There you have it! There’s some more out there, but those are my personal favorites. Remember to check out “Shazam!” on April 5th!
