On April 5th, the superhero movie genre is getting its next installment, “Shazam!” In a crazy new twist, DC is going to try something it has never done before: make a kid-friendly, light-hearted comedy. Seriously, this movie looks “Ant-Man” level in terms of playfulness, and our protagonist is a literal 15-year-old. This will undoubtedly lead to an unprecedented amount of jokes for a DC movie. Anyway, it also will probably prompt fans everywhere to randomly say “shazam” just for fun. This is what fans do. It’s an unstoppable force. So instead of denying the inevitable, I thought that we could examine some of the other times that a superhero movie has brought us a nice catchphrase. And now, on with the countdown.
