If you’re just like me then you’ve acknowledged this year as your time for growth, self love and care, maturity, spirituality, and doing any and everything to focus solely on you and your betterment. Therefore this season, I like to call it the “honeymoon season”, could leave you feeling left out if you’re single. Everyone’s dating and talking, or like some friends of mine, getting engaged. I’ve caught myself feeling all shades of green due to this season, but it’s time to snap out of it! So here’s some things I’ll be doing for Valentine’s Day to make myself and my happiness still at the forefront.

1. Hanging out and ordering special Valentines foods for me and my friends

So many places are doing heart shaped things, and at a discounted rate for large amounts. Chick-Fil-A has a 30 piece nugget heart tray, pizza places have heart shaped pizzas and sometimes meal deals with a desert too like heart cakes and your favorite sweets, there’s so much out there! Sharing it with friends just makes it 10x better (but of course you can get it all for yourself)!

2. A complete de-stress night

Right now, the college courses and workload is picking up, and you might find yourself overwhelmed. A night (or day if you wanna just take the day off) all to yourself doing your favorite things seems like the perfect plan. You could start that show series, read a new book, or even watch some movies. At the end of the day, it’s important to take care of yourself.

3. Spoil yourself and be your own date

Either book a date with yourself or with some friends, but getting cute and wearing something nice is always fun. A date with yourself could help you explore some new things, and find new hobbies! Take tons of pictures and have a blast! This one is most definitely one of my favorites and something I want to make an annual thing, even after I get a partner.
