New Years are usually the time when people are either reflecting on all the successes and blessings they had or celebrating that they are finally leaving the year behind. Along with this usually comes the notion of wanting to express what can be changed in the new year to better either the individual or the individual’s environment. I am no exception. After a tough personal loss at the end of December 2021, I wanted to make a list of resolutions that have a little more weight behind them after experiencing such a loss. Here goes…
– Appreciate the sunset more
– Appreciate people giving their time to you
– Listening more
– Taking care of my body; sleeping & eating
– Reflect on something that made you happy every day
– Do not stress or worry about something for more than a day
– Do your best to never leave a situation without your ducks in a row
– Always say, “I love you.”
– Verbalize how much someone or something means to you
– Take more pictures
– Text more
– Be kinder to strangers
Absolutely nothing in life is promised. We are all doing our best, and that is enough. This new year is going to be entirely new territory. The only thing you can control is your own actions. So, make this year about bettering yourself, loving harder, and taking things as they come.
