I started reading books on the app Wattpad because it was a convenient and free way to read books. Wattpad allows individuals to create an account to publish original stories and read original stories by other users. Even though I now read books from other e-book reading platforms like iBooks, kindle, Libby, and more I will always have a special space for the reading platform where my love for books started. I think it is important to give recognition to the authors who created captivating characters, and a beautiful world through the written word by appreciating their books. Below I have assembled a list of some books that were originally written on Wattpad that have now been picked by publishing companies and officially published.

  1. The Wallflower’s Revenge by SWEETBLUNCH – A book about Tatiana Rostova who made a promise to herself that once she survives the cold ruthless sea she was pushed into she will survive and take revenge on the two people who betrayed her love. To take her revenge she is willing to sell her soul to the devil, which in this case is a dashing Italian Duke, Lucca Cavelli. This book is an emotional rollercoaster from the first page because you feel the pain and betrayal that Tatiana faced in your heart then also fall in love with her strength and determination just like Lucca did. Luca and Tatiana’s romance is so beautifully written that it makes you giggle, smile, cry, and get angry all throughout the book.
  2. The Hoodie Girl by Yeun Wright – This book is a young adult romance that showcases the unforeseen but beautiful relationship between Wren, a girl who is just skating by trying to remain invisible with her red hoodie, and Asher, captain of the hockey team as well as Mr. popular. Both unexpectedly Wren and Asher bump into each other one day but are quickly seeing each other more and more as their lives become more intertwined. This is a beautiful young adult book to read about how with the right person you feel seen and want to no longer be invisible or alone.
  3. Breakaway by Avery Keelan – In this book, Ryan is a nursing student who meets Ethan, the college’s hockey hero, when she applies to be his roommate. Ethan believed that Ryan would be the perfect roommate but there was one small issue Ethan was expecting a guy and instead came a girl. Ethan needs to focus on his college term while Ryan needs a place to stay as both of them try to keep this relationship as platonic as possible they both get involved in each other’s world. This is a fun young college romance book to see whether two roommates are better just as friends or better as a couple.
  4. The QB Bad Boy and Me by Tay Marley – This popular book is about reluctant cheerleader Dallas Bryan and the star football quarterback Drayton Lahey whose lives coincide when Drayton’s motorcycle hits Dallas’s car. These two opposites slowly fall in love as their lives change with each other’s presence. This is a fun, relatable young adult romance to read as two high school students learn whether they love each other and if that love is worth the pain and loss of dreams.
  5. The Bad Boy and the Tomboy Nicole Nwosu – This is a book that is about how all love stories do not have a perfect start. Macy Anderson starts to date Cedric Cahill, the perfect boyfriend and the only guy she’s ever had a crush on. However, Cedric’s cousin Sam who is “just a friend” starts to feel like more than a friend pushing her brain in new and unexpected directions. Macy explores her heart’s feelings as she decides whether following her heart is worth losing both a friendship and a relationship. This book is a young adult romance about a love triangle that will capture the readers as well as a love story that gives the heart flutters.

As a side note: First, these books are found on Wattpad under paid stories and can also be purchased online as well. The books mentioned above were chosen based on my personal reads and preferences about books and storylines. To find a more complete list of other Wattpad books that are now published look at Goodreads and do your own research to find books that you will prefer and enjoy reading. I hope these suggestions give you more books for your already ever-growing to-be-read list.

These are recommendations on more books to read that you guys will enjoy and will incite you to read more books by Wattpad authors. Especially because they are books by authors who have put in a lot of effort to write their books for free, to share them with users on an online platform, and finally get these books published for the general public to read. I think it is important to appreciate the dedication that these authors have put into writing and publishing these books so I hope you will take the time to actually look and possibly read them.
