Hopkins can be a really stressful school, with most of our days (especially during finals) looking like this:
But typically we compensate by most of our weekends looking like this:
And now there’s the best way to let off steam after those horridly depressing exam weeks.
Hopkins Bar Crawl!
I know what you’re thinking, since before my eyes were opened, I thought this too. “How can going to PJ’s be considered a bar crawl?” You would be wrong. You end up at PJ’s yes, but there’s many a stop along the way.
A few seniors headed out during finals week to see if this long sought-after feat is indeed possible.
The exciting answer is: absolutely, and it was fun as hell.
(Warning: you will get really drunk. Like… “making pasta at 2 am and finding tomato sauce all over your kitchen the next morning” drunk.)
Stop 1: Hop Deli
“Isn’t Hop Deli just a place to buy beer?” No! You can sit at a table and order a pitcher with you and your fellow adventurers. It’s a good place to start, as you’ll probably be a little skeptical at first and need a relaxing pitcher of Natty Boh to soothe your concerns.
Stop 2: One World
You’re probably going to get a weird organic beer here, but don’t let it deter you. The Hopkins Bar Crawl has only just begun.
Stop 3: Tambers
The beers here are huge. You better finish it or you’re ruining the integrity of this sacred practice. WARNING: you’re going to think you’re not drunk. You are.
Stop 4: Ledo’s
Our stop here was slightly rushed, as the place was closing up and they didn’t really want a bunch of drunk students stumbling around their restaurant. But if you’re lucky, you’ll also spill your beer on the person next to you and feel really bad about it.
Stop 5: Charles Village Pub
CVP is always a good vibe. We sat here for a while since it was 19 degrees outside and they make some awesome wings.
Stop 6: Maxi’s
The homestretch. Take a Jagerbomb shot or two, you deserved it if you made it this far.
Stop 7 (Final Stop): PJ’s
Ah, PJ’s. Familiar and safe. There’s no better place to end the Hopkins Bar Crawl than somewhere that feels like home.
