Can’t live with it, definitely can’t live without it.
1. The inability to resist getting StarbucksYou’re fully aware of your lack of dining dollars and the outrageous number of calories in your favorite Starbucks drink, but it’s like as soon as you walk into Carrier, you magically find yourself in line, wondering how you got there. Just accept that you need the caffeine and move on.
2. The endless search to find a seatYou circled around the first floor three times, and the second floor seems to be just as hopeless, but you know the third floor won’t appreciate you loudly slurping your drink.
3. The even-more-endless search to find a seat with outlet accessYou know you won’t be able to stay long enough to get any real work done unless you find somewhere to charge your various electronics. Sometimes the abundance of outlets on the second floor is enough, but other times, you’ll end up doing all your work on the floor in a hidden corner in order to charge.
4. When the Wi-Fi fails youSometimes Carrier Wi-Fi is great, but most of the time, it isn’t. You’re an eight-tabs-open-at-a-time kind of person, but the amount of people using the Wi-Fi will cause you to rethink whether you really need Facebook AND Instagram open.
5. The struggle of being too tall for the bathroom stallsThis may not apply to everyone, but many people feel like giants when they step into those old stalls. You may have wanted privacy, but now you’re making eye contact with the person washing their hands.
6. Feeling like you accomplished nothing while you were thereThree hours after arriving, you snap out of your Carrier trance and realize you are no closer to mastering the evolution of primates than you were when you got there, especially if you are there “studying” with friends. Don’t worry too much, you probably absorbed more than you think!
7. Feeling like you accomplished everything while you were thereA productive session in Carrier can leave you feeling like the world’s most put-together college student. Even if you didn’t get all the work done that you aimed to, there’s something about being in a library that makes you feel so academic.
