Easiest Fall Trends to Try!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

If you want to get into the autumn spirit, one of the best ways to do that is through your style. Here are a few quick and simple things you can do to transform your look into the new season!

-Dark Lip
One way to instantly change your look and bring you into fall fashion is with a dark lip color. There are so many products out there to add color to your lips: lipsticks, stains, glosses and even some chap sticks can give your pout a darker tint. Dark lips are a dramatic and simple way to add some sophistication to your look, and with a dark lip you get to keep the rest of your makeup simple.

-Wide-Leg Jean
Let’s be honest, how long have you been wearing skinny jeans? Wide-leg jeans is a very chic trend to try. They are flattering on any shape, from petite to curvy girls and everyone in between. Wide-leg jeans create a new shape for your outfit, and you’ll love that you can update your look so easily with a simple swap of denim styles. And hey, they are a heck of a lot easier to get on in the morning!

-Pants That Aren’t Denim (Or at Least Don’t Look Like It)
Another trend for fall is wearing pants that are made of something other than denim. There are cargo pants, corduroy and khakis. Another way to make it seem as if you’ve swapped out your denim is to wear colored jeans. It’s important that your jeans are a fall or winter shade, like deep purple, navy or burnt orange, rather than more summery colors like hot pink or yellow.

-Blazers

Some girls may think that blazers are too stuffy or business-y to wear in your everyday wardrobe, but blazers can be very casual and are great for layering in the colder weather. Dress a blazer down with jeans and a cute colorful top or even throw it over a dress with tights. Blazers also come in numerous colors and can add texture to your outfit depending on its material. You can get them in tweed, velvet or even covered with sparkly sequins.
