Healthy & Homemade Halloween Recipes!

Halloween is just around the corner, which means we all have some unhealthy decisions coming our way. Every store is currently advertising and selling huge bags of candy, not to mention E-Hall always steps up their game right around the major holidays. Pumpkin ice cream and cheesecake is hard to walk past… until the Halloweekend(s) come and everyone is panicking about how they look and what to wear. Check out these healthier options that are festive and easy to make at home!

Pumpkin Pita
Ingredients
12 ounce(s) shredded Cheddar cheese
1 can(s) (4 1/2-ounce) chopped mild green chiles
1/3 cup(s) light mayonnaise
1 tablespoon(s) vinegar
1 teaspoon(s) mustard
1/2 cup(s) sliced ripe olives

Directions
1. In food processor with knife blade, blend Cheddar cheese, green chiles, mayonnaise, vinegar, and mustard. Transfer to bowl; stir in olives.

Guacamole Graveyard
Ingredients
Guacamole
Black olives
Tortilla chips

Directions
1) Layer the guacamole into a bowl and place the chips on top to look like tombstones

Nutty Teeth
Ingredients
Apples
Almonds

Directions
1) Cut a chunk out of the apple and slice up almonds and stick them into the apple to make them look like teeth

Snack-O-Lantern
Ingredients
Naval orange
Canned or fresh fruit salad

Directions
1) To make one lantern, use a small knife to slice the top off a navel orange and cut around its interior to hollow it out. Scoop out the orange segments, chop them, and mix them with canned or fresh fruit salad
2) Carve small facial features in one side of the orange, then cut a slit in the lid to accommodate the handle of a green plastic spoon. Fill the lantern with fruit salad. Insert the spoon and set the lid in place
