How to Rock an Anorak Jacket

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

So, you want to change up your style and add an anorak jacket to your wardrobe? You and everyone else this season! The cozy winter cover-up is definitely perfect for the sensibly stylish collegiette, but rocking one takes practice. Here are some tips to have you bearing the cold like a pro.

Start by choosing your anorak. The most popular color is army green, but there are still others that come in colors such as grey, white, and even maroon.

Try out different accessories. Scarves, hats, and gloves work great in knit materials, especially in the bitter cold. The perfect excuse for your next knitting project!

Choose accessories that compliment your jacket but don’t distract away from it. You want your jacket to be the staple item, the piece de resistance.

To keep warm, stick with a dark pair of jeans instead of leggings.

Last but not least, don’t forget your boots! Riding boots can work, but don’t be afraid to switch it up with a pair of edgy moto boots.
