As a talented actor, passionate activist, and all-around great gal, Sky Wilson is 100% campus cutie material!

Major: Theatre
Campus Involvement: Stratford Players and Feminist Collective
You recently closed a show. Why did you choose to get involved with it, and what was the experience like?
It was called “Voices”, and it was a political theatre piece about bringing unheard voices from history into the forefront of people’s minds. That’s something that’s important to me, and I knew that it would involve issues that I am passionate about. It was student-directed which I liked a lot, so that’s why I auditioned. It was a really good experience; I learned a lot about things in history that I maybe knew a little bit about but not a lot. I also got better at doing really long monologues, and I got to know a lot of people that I probably wouldn’t have any other way.
What are your JMU theatre goals?
Every actor’s dream is to, at some point, be a lead in a show, but I’m also really interesting in marketing for theatre, so I just want to do as much of that as possible.
Why did you get involved with the Feminist Collective?
I was raised in feminist household; I’m very much a vocal feminist. I don’t like to sit by the sidelines with that issue, and I wanted to meet more people who are vocal and want to make change in the world. Then I went to one meeting, and they were all super nice, super cool people.
Favorite class?
My favorite class is SCOM 122. I take it honors with Annick Dupal–what a babe she is. It’s just a really fun class.
Favorite campus eatery?
Dukes because it has a lot of variety, and I like the salads at Side Pocket.
Starbucks or Dunkin?
Starbucks because they have more non-coffee options. At Dunkin, the non-coffee options are like iced tea and that’s it.
Dream job?
I would run my own theatre, manage it, and also get to be in the shows.
Spirit Animal?
A rabbit. Maybe a bunny because they’re the cuter version.
If you could have dinner with a celebrity, who would it be?
If I just want to hang out and talk with them: Amy Poehler. She’s my idol. If it’s like a dinner date: Andrew Garfield. In this fantasy world, he and Emma Stone are on a break, or she’s fine with it.
