Friendsgiving is every friend group’s favorite celebration. With a potluck-style meal and everyone you love gathered ’round the table, it is one of the most joyful events of the year. However, being in college often means a lack of ingredients, cooking space, and time. Here are five easy and delicious ideas for foods you can bring to the table when celebrating with friends!
- Costco pumpkin pie
-
Although this is not something you make, it’s basically better! At the cheap price of $5.99, a massive pumpkin pie from the popular grocery store Costco can save you time and money. The pie is huge, and serves 12 people! It is perfect for a large group of friends. You can’t beat the taste for the price! I know this personally, because I get this treat every year. It has been so good and so easy that we gave up on making our own!
- bucket of KFC chicken
-
Turkey, while the star of the show at almost every Thanksgiving feast, is completely unfeasible to cook for friends in a college apartment. They are expensive, and the process is difficult to master. But, you know what isn’t difficult and inaccessible? A big bucket of KFC chicken! The fried chicken is a common swap at most Friendsgiving meals and KFC knows how to do it! Go pick up some fried chicken for your friends, you won’t regret it.
- hawaiian rolls
-
Everyone loves a good piece of bread, and Hawaiian rolls are no exception to that. The small, sweet rolls are a favorite food of many during the holidays, and better yet, they are cheap! At $4.99 a bag, you can fit plenty of these into your budget! To make them more fun, you can split them in half and fill them with sandwich toppings to make mini pull-apart sandwiches for your table. You can never go wrong with a pack of these!
- array of dips
-
There are many dips you can make for super cheap, and dips are a hot commodity at any party! A basic buffalo chicken dip can be made with canned chicken, hot sauce, cream cheese, and cheese. They also offer many pre-made (and equally delicious) dips at Costco! From spinach and artichoke dip to cannoli dip, it’s impossible to make a bad choice. A simple Google search will bring you recipes for a million different dips you can bring to your table!
- Green bean casserole
-
If you’re feeling like you want to do a little more cooking than a pre-made item permits, try to make green bean casserole. With canned green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and crispy onions, green bean casserole is a cheap and delicious dish that completes every Thanksgiving table.
Now you can confidently say you have some cheap and yummy ideas for your next Friendsgiving event! All of these options are tested and approved at my own Thanksgiving feast. Have fun, be safe, and don’t forget to fill your plate! What dish are you going to try out?
