Healing will never be easy, nor will it be linear. Some days it will come in sunshine and joy, other days in wanting to be consumed by your bed and nothing else. It is normal and happens to everyone. Most times it can be interpreted as a warning sign, that you need to change something that doesn’t bring any good to your life. Although, it always takes me by surprise how many people around me are experiencing the same exact process. We just do not talk about it until one of us breaks down in front of our friends, and suddenly you become so glad that it isn’t just you. One of the most important things about the process is realising and accepting that you will have good and bad days. Sometimes you have to pause and feel what you are feeling, no matter the tendency to push it aside or bottle it.

As well as healing feeling like a never-ending circle, I have learned so much about myself. Things like knowing even if the pain might stay, I am not the same person I was when I first dealt with and experienced it. And that’s okay. Things do get better, we all get what we deserve in the end.
