It’s finally that time of year again; it’s getting much colder. I hate to think that we are going to have to start wearing our gloves and scarves again. What’s the best thing about gloves and scarves? They’re cute and fashionable and although this is all true, let’s not skate away from the truth: are lips are going to be chapped.
Kean girls loved Maybelline’s new, “Baby Lips” and said that they would definitely give it a shot!
I asked some girls here at Kean what they thought about one of the varieties: Peach Kiss. The first thing they noticed about the packaging was that the colors were nice. They seemingly loved the purple color. They also said they liked the smell and that it gave off a fruity aroma.
Perhaps this is why I am so excited to see that Maybelline has put out a new product: Baby Lips. I have to be honest; I have been waiting for a while to see a drugstore brand put out such a cute, “luxe-ish” looking chapstick. It’s a given, we know they have Carmex, Burts Bees, Vitamin Water chap stick and more; but what is fun about that? Nothing really.
Maybelline Baby Lips comes in six flavors and varieties: Quenched, Peppermint, Cherry Me, Grape Vine, Pink Punch and Peach Kiss.
The applications of these chap sticks are wonderful. They go on very smooth and after the application it looks like a lip gloss without the stickiness! I don’t know about you but I love lip gloss; but hate that stickiness and I would rather not have my hair get caught on it.
With the application straight out of the twist up tube, it tints the lips just a small bit. The Grape Vine variety’s cute little purple-red lip tint works wonderful for winter. The Peach Kiss variety shades the lips with a more nude-clear look.
The taste of the gloss and the effect that it has on your lips is most definitely rewarding. According to the Maybelline website this, “no more basic lip balm will: visibly renew lips and have 8-hr hydration, protects and moisturizes lips.” Not only this but the website claims an SPF of 20 and newly reformed lips after four weeks.
