After 4 years (or more) of intense studying, vigorous work, hard core partying and memorable experiences, for some students their college journey is coming to an end. Graduation is the last milestone of one’s college career so it’s important to stand out and show one’s unique creativity. College is a unique experience and on your last day as an undergraduate should be just as special. In a sea of hundreds of students in their graduation caps and gowns you can stand out with a little bling and a few accessories.

Curls+Graduation Cap= Amazing! This great look may take a while, but it’s worth it. Skip the hot iron and just put your hair in rollers the night before, or go to your local salon, or blow out bar and have them style you tress. (Tip: If you plan on going to a salon make your appointment way in advance. Around graduation the fill up quickly.)

Make Up

Make-up for your graduation should be natural and elegant. Embrace your inner beauty and let the real you shine through without all the extra makeup. Less is more. Especially since graduation day can be pretty long. Heavy makeup tends to smug since there is no room underneath your graduation gown for a makeup kit, minimal makeup is better.

This video by Michelle Phan will give you step by step instructions for a flawless graduation look.

Decoration and Accessories

Everyone may look similar in the graduation caps and gowns but with a few additional touches you can stand out from all the rest. Wearing small jewelry pieces can make your graduation look 10 times better. Small studded earring and a simple ring, or bracelet are perfect, especially if they have significant meaning. Wear your grandmother’s diamond earrings, or your sorority ring with the emblem embedded on it, or your class ring.

To add extra bling to your graduation cap decorate it with anything you want. Many students do this as an ultimate form of expression and make their celebration a bit more special. Decorate it with toy graduation year, favorite quote, sorority letters, organization logo…etc. (Tip: If you plan on decorating your cap put a piece of removable cardboard paper on top of the fabric just in case you make a mistake while decorating, or a school official asks you to remove it.
