Adulthood is every child’s dream. I remember being 12 years old and watching my older family members in awe. I mean its adulthood, freedom, cars, buying a home etc., it all seemed so exciting to me. So we all thought. Though adulthood isn’t terrible, it still receives a 3 out of 10 stars from me. I am fairly new to this life “game”, and let me tell you, the rules are unfair and confusing.
- The first thing I wish I was told is to get a credit card and build it up! Although I am not at an age where having one is urgent, it’s approaching very fast and boy, am I happy to have supportive parents to help me correctly use one and teach me as I go. Definitely get a credit card and build your credit up, responsibly.
2. Its okay to feel lonely! When entering adulthood, it can get tough. Outgrowing people, and old habits isn’t easy, but definitely necessary for growth. WE got this!
3. Don’t compare your journey to others. At this age, we are constantly watching those around us. You may notice your friends completing their goals before you, which is okay! Life has not time limit, or finish line. It’s not the speed that matters, but the journey that counts.
