Hmm, what to do?? It’s a Saturday afternoon, and I found myself stuck inside my room studying for multiple tests. However, I am distracted with all the things I want to do besides studying. Sure, I could go to the bars in Buckhead or get wasted at Tin Lizzy, but I wanted something that I wouldn’t normally do. That lead me to find five activities to try around Kennesaw! All reasonable prices and super fun to do with friends!

KSU Nature Bound: Itching for nature?  (Price: $ – $$)

If you haven’t been to the rec center on campus, then you’re missing out! Not only do they have a great facility with a multitude of recreational activities, but they also offer a program called Nature Bound which is an outdoor recreation program. It provides recreational and educational opportunities to KSU and non- KSU students. On their website, you’ll see a list of their Fall and Spring activities. Some include hiking, camping, kayaking, Snorkeling, Mountain biking, paddling, climbing, and caving!! Scared about not knowing how to do to the activities? No worries, before each trip, a mandatory class is given that will inform you of the event and procedures. Each trip has a special guide that is knowledgeable about the activity, and the best part is … transportation and gear for all excursions are included in the trip price!!

Want a new décor piece for your room that you get to decorate? Love plants but don’t have a green thumb? Look no further at the sipping plant! Located near the mall in Kennesaw, it is a wonderful shop that lets you build your terrariums with real plants. I went with my friends and honestly had the best time!

Perks?

  • If your over 21, bring your friends + ID’s and get lit with your favorite wines /alcoholic beverages of your choice. (BYOB)
  • Not good with watering? No problem, all the plants that are given to you are of the cactus family. This means less water, less maintenance.
  • The instructors teach you all about the care of the plants and then you’re ready to take them home to enjoy! Some hang, some make great statement pieces and they all make great gifts. ( https://sippingplant.com/pages/book-now-kennesaw)
