Everything was going pretty well until about two weeks before finals. But, I had no idea how much work I was about to get. Two weeks before finals all my teachers began introducing the final projects. I soon felt very overwhelmed. I had to make a slides presentation for DKS First-Year Experience, a collage for Fashion Fundamentals, another slide presentation for Fashion Drawing and a really big assignment for Fashion Visuals. And on top of that, I still had math assignments to complete. It was very intimidating because I was not sure where to start. My best option was to do what needed to be turned in first. I completed the Google slide presentations, worked on the bigger projects and saved my math homework for last. After completing everything I felt a weight lift off my chest. It was nice to be done with everything but then I realized it is finals time.Â
Now it’s finals week, and I surprisingly only have three tests scheduled for this semester. Two of them are scheduled for the same day, Wednesday, and the other is scheduled for Friday. Some teachers allow the test to be open for multiple hours but others have a specific time and that’s it. I’m not sure what to expect for my drawing class, all I know is I will have to draw figures. But my other tests seem like simple multiple-choice, proctored exams. I am not too stressed about my finals because I have paid attention during the semester. I have also taken a lot of notes and most teachers give out a study guide or at least instructions.Â
Some ways I have stayed relaxed during this stressful time was just doing things I enjoyed. For example, I lit one of my favorite candles called Vanilla Marshmallow and made myself some Oolong tea. I also would just take a minute to just lay in bed and be comfortable. You could also take a nice warm shower or bath. And a very important thing is to get enough sleep.Â
You should always try to eat healthy snacks and meals during this time. So I always make sure to have a water bottle near me. Some of my favorite snacks include fruit, pretzels, granola bars, yogurt and tuna. Never skip breakfast!Â
I hope this helped you! Take care of yourself during finals week and good luck! You’ll do great!
