Valentine’s Day is coming up, and what better way is there to celebrate than with a unique date? If you and your Valentine are fans of Marvel or DC movies and are in search of some nerdy date ideas, then look no further! Even if you find yourself single this Saturday, these are fun activities you can do with friends.
1. Climb to the top of a bridge. (The Amazing Spiderman 2) There are lots of bridges around campus. Bundle up and take a walk if the paths aren’t too slippery. Bonus points if you write “I Love You” on the bridge with string or another web-like material!
2. Take a martial arts class. (The Avengers) Channel your inner Black Widow and check out the Martial Arts Club on campus!
3. Do a science project together. (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk) You could buy one of those science kits for kids or gather the materials yourself and do a kitchen science experiment. Relive some childhood memories while making a new one!
4. Visit a museum. (Captain America 2) History is cool! If it’s a museum for something you’re both interested in, you can enjoy exploring your passion together. If only one of you is really into the subject, then it’s nice to have your date teach you about something they care about. Either way, a museum trip can be a lot of fun.
5. Do each other’s makeup. (The Dark Knight) If your date is a guy, you’ll probably end up looking like the Joker, but at least it’ll be entertaining!
6. Slow dance in fancy clothing. (Iron Man) Dress up in your most formal garb, mix up some cocktails, and turn on soft music. When the evening is close to being over, almost kiss on a rooftop…the anticipation will make the real thing even better!
7. Make each other a mix tape, and then listen to them together! (Guardians of the Galaxy) While listening, maybe refer to Date Idea #6.
8. Eat at a diner. (Thor) This is a cute, classic date. A bit of advice, though: Try to be a bit more polite than the God of Thunder when requesting a second cup of coffee.
After going on one (or more) of these dates, cuddle up together and watch the movie that inspired it! Happy Valentine’s Day!
