Campus Cutie: Getting to Know Khalil Chatman ‘16

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kenyon chapter.

From working hard in the science quad to raging up in the DKE bulls-eye, Khalil Chatman ’16 seems to be a pretty busy guy. When he isn’t partaking in sketch comedy or eating Peirce mac and cheese, you might find Khalil dreaming about the magical world of Harry Potter or Beyoncé. Read on to learn more about this week’s cutie!

Year: 2016

Major: Double major in Neuroscience and Philosophy

Hometown: Ashtabula, Ohio

What activities are you involved with?

Delta Kappa Epsilon, Beyond Therapy, and Housing and Dining Committee.

What is your favorite Peirce meal?

The mac and cheese bar or corn bread… But I would definitely eat them together.

What is your dream job?

To be a motivational speaker, particularly about college readiness (i.e getting ready for and into college), as well as how to succeed past that.

What are three musical artists you would love to see live before you die?

Outkast, Elton John, and Kendrick Lamar.

What are some things on your Kenyon bucket list?

I want to watch the sunrise from the BFEC hill and to ride a motorcycle down middle path.

What is your spirit animal?

A hippogriff.

If you could be a Peirce dessert which one would you be and why?

Chocolate chip scones, because they’re the best thing that they offer.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Beyoncé.

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

If I had one wish, I would change the entire world to be that of Harry Potter. Give me a wand and I would do that right now.

If you were an Old Kenyon party, what would your theme be?

Probably Deb Ball because I have to get a little ratchet sometimes.

What is your dream date?

I would be hanging out with a best friend, and on the spot I would realize that I’m in love with them. We wouldn’t be anywhere fancy… There would be beer (preferably the cheapest), American food (burgers and hot dogs), and probably football on a flat-screen. Real simple, real American.
