Catching up with Rachel Hall ’15

Okay, let’s face it. Rachel Hall is a Campus Celebrity. In addition to scoring a hat trick in KCFH’s game against Randolph-Macon College, Rachel was also named the NCAC Player of the Week. No biggie, right? Besides being a superstar on the field Rachel also manages to balance plenty of other extracurricular activities. We were lucky to fit into her busy schedule and learn a little more about her!

Zeta Alpha Pi, Field Hockey, Discrimination Advisor, Archons, Student Lectureships.

 

At what age did you become interested in field hockey and how so?

I started field hockey in the 8th grade, so when I was 13 years old. I never knew what it was before middle school, but it was offered in PE so I decided to try it and I liked it!

 

What do you like to do when you’re not tearing it up on the field?

I like to hang out with friends, listen to music, go shopping, and watch TV shows, such as True Blood and Pretty Little Liars.

 

Who would be performing at your ideal concert?

Jay-Z, Disclosure, and Rihanna for sure.

 

If you were deserted on an island and were allowed to bring 3 things, what would they be?

I would bring water, my stuffed animal dog (named Licorice), and phone (would that work?!)

 

Are you going abroad in the spring? If so, what are you most excited about?

I’m going to Dublin, Ireland. I’m so excited to meet new people, learn more about the culture, and become more independent and mature.

 

What are your thoughts on Miley Cyrus’ performance at the VMAs?

When I first saw it I was shocked, not going to lie. But she’s an independent woman and she can express herself any way she wants to. If she wants do it that way then power to her!

 

What is your favorite meal at the deli?

Mickey eggs, for sure!

 

Who has been one of the most inspirational people in your life?

Definitely my mom because she is probably the strongest woman I know. She raised my sister and me alone, and I admire that so much. She’s amazing!

 

If you had a super power what would it be and why?

I would like to be able to read people’s thoughts because, I don’t know, I’m a nosy person and want to know what people are thinking.

 

What would be the name of your autobiography?

It’s Ratchet Rach.

The naked mile run along Middle Path, I think everyone should do that!

 

Emma Miller, from Shaker Heights, Ohio,  is a senior Drama major at Kenyon College. She is a co-president of StageFemmes, a Kenyon student theatre organization dedicated to showcasing the talents of women in drama. Emma spends her summers as Assistant Director at a Jewish performing arts camp.
