Get To Know Your DA: Rachel Hall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kenyon chapter.

You may know Rachel Hall from her goal-scoring streak this past fall for KCFH, but did you know that she’s also a Discrimination Advisor? Read more to find out what she’s all about!

Year: Junior
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Major: Neuroscience (bio-psychological track)

Why did you choose to become a DA?
I wanted to be a part of an organization that acknowledges that discrimination occurs everywhere, even at very liberal places like Kenyon. I wanted to be there as a resource for my fellow students, whether they feel uncomfortable at a place they should be able to call home, or if they are simply interested in becoming more culturally open and aware. Everyone should be treated equally.

What diversity related issue are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about race-related issues, specifically in helping people realize how certain racial stereotypes are deeply ingrained in our lives and how they govern the way we behave towards people who are different from us.

Ally Bruschi is a senior political science major at Kenyon College. She spent this past summer interning as a writer with both The Daily Meal, a digital media group  dedicated to "all things food and drink" and The Borgen Project, a non-profit organization that partners with U.S. policymakers to alleviate global poverty. Before entering the "real world" of jobs, however, Ally spent many summers as a counselor at an all-girls summer camp in Vermont, aka the most wonderful place on earth. A good book, a jar of peanut butter, a well-crafted Spotify playlist, and a lazy dog could get her through even the worst of days.
