Whether you are a first year student, or almost done with your senior year, this list will help you make the most of your time at Kenyon. If you get creative and have some fun, it is never too late to complete your Kenyon bucket list!
- Go to every building on campus. See if you can find a hidden spot in each building.
- Create a snow sculpture with friends.
- See the top of Peirce Tower: bonus points for every building you see the roof of.
- Have a movie night with your friends in a classroom.
- Use the rope to swing into the Kokosing River.
- Go stargazing: bonus points if you use the New Apartment tennis court or the train cars on the Gap Trail by the Lowry Center.
- Sit in every area of Peirce: bonus points for sitting with new people.
- Get a compliment card from Old Bob.
- Befriend a campus creature (this includes your professor’s adorable dog).
- Hang out with friends through a power outage: bonus points for enjoying the blackout without technology (aside from some flashlights).
- Finish a crossword and send it into the Collegian.
- Have a student cut your hair.
- Try to go to one event from every club.
- Volunteer at Wiggin Street Elementary.
- Go sledding down a Kenyon hill: bonus points for using an item other than a sled.
- Have a snowball fight or water gun fight with friends (or enemies).
- Go hammocking in the BFEC.
- Buy Kenyon student art, and have the artist sign it (this is an investment).
- Get coffee/food with a professor: bonus points if they invite you for dinner at their house.
- Meet your maintenance staff and write them a thank you card.
- Get approved for a Gund Gallery art loan.
- Have your photo featured on the Kenyon website.
- Have your photo in the yearbook: bonus points for being featured multiple times.
- Walk down all of Middle Path in one trip (no using your phone).
- Go to a guest lecture and stay after to talk to the speaker.
- Get a Summer Sendoff T-shirt.
- Spend a day walking around Mount Vernon and talking to shop owners.
- Go to a Horn Gallery concert: bonus points for making a sign for your favorite artist.
- Sleep in an academic building (the 24 hour room in Chalmers doesn’t count).
- Re-create an old yearbook picture from the archives.
- Wake up before 9 o’clock on a Saturday and enjoy the ghost town.
- Learn a Kenyon ghost story, and tell it to your friends on a dark and stormy night.
- Go to Peirce for late night breakfast.
- Visit the art exhibits in Gund Gallery.
- Create a secret club with your friends: bonus points if it spans multiple class years (so you can leave your legacy).
- Sit on top of the Gates of Hell and ask people riddles in order to pass.
- Watch the sunrise with friends.
- Write a letter to your future self. You can even do it digitally.
- Go to Sunset Point and watch…the sun set.
- Read a book featured in the Peirce stained-glass windows on Old Side.
- Be featured in the Collegian.
- Read a professor’s research and discuss it with them.
- Fill your milk carton at Pierce, even if it is with just one cup at a time.
- Experience a Weird Friday: bonus points for a Weird Wednesday as well.
- Hug your friends because we are all a bit touch-starved.
- Go to Southside Diner in Mount Vernon.
- Watch “Liberal Arts,” a Josh Radnor movie shot at Kenyon.
- Have an “awkward family photo shoot” with your friends.
- Take a shower in Chalmers library.
- Write a letter to a future Kenyon student and hide it on campus.
