No matter where you go on campus, people are always listening to music- studying, walking to class, eating lunch or on the bus- we all need our daily fix. Now if you’re anything like me, Spotify is the greatest invention since sliced bread and you have a playlist for every occasion. With midterms just around the corner, I’m here to help you beef up your study playlist a little bit. I’ve selected a few personal favorites that fit perfectly in the background of everyting from Intro to Political Science to Calculus and even Art History. Needless to say, Collegiettes™, I’ve got your back.

First up is ‘Sensual’ by TVA. I first heard this song playing in the background of an intense scene on MTV’s Faking It (which is great show by the way). Also, I’d like to give serious props to MTV for always putting the artist and song title at the bottom of the page, sometimes my Shazam reflexes aren’t up to par and I’d hate to miss a new hit for any one of my (or your) precious playlists. Anyway, I had never heard about TVA before this song, but now I’m in love. I did some research and came up pretty short, their only two songs were released in June so I’d venture to say they’re probably new kids on the block (zing). I couldn’t find a reputable Youtube account, but there songs are on there and they are on Spotify. They’re one of those groups that writes music that could consistently sit in the background of our everyday lives, like Kodaline. If you like this one, I suggest you check out “Keep Me A Secret,” which was also featured on Faking It.

For those of you looking for something with a little rap in it, we’ll take a look at “Let’s Get Lost” by G-Eazy. A popular hit you may know him by is his recent song, “I Mean It.” Now if you didn’t know, G-Eazy is coming to The Granada on November 20th and I’ve already got my ticket. Unlike TVA, G-Eazy is very established with professional accounts on both Youtube and a page on Spotify. This a good fit for your study playlist because its tempo is close to your heartbeat and it features a soft female voice for the chorus and G-Eazy’s rap in each of the verses. The link I’ve included is to the official music video, which I LOVE.

Last week I wrote an article that featured Kodaline and since then my addiction has only grown, we’ll now take a look at “All I Want.” Now if you’re looking for background info on the band you should check out my article from last week. They’ll actually be in LFK on October 25th at The Granada if you’re itching to see them live. As I mentionted before, their music is on point for the role of background essentials of daily life and will fit well behind reading, flashcards or last minute organzation (because you’re never really organized to begin with). It may sound familair if you’ve seen The Fault in Our Stars.

Hoping you enjoy some of my personal favorites that can animate your midterm studying!
