Sometimes it is very easy to take college for granted. It is easy to get wrapped up in our everyday problems and workload. We often don’t stop and realize how lucky we are to be women in college. If you’re looking to change your perspective and to stop taking your education for granted, look to She’s the First*{KU}. She’s the First*{KU} is an organization that raises funds to send girls in low-income countries to be the first in their families to receive an education. Here are just a few reasons why you should think about joining them on their journey:
1. Meet New Friends. Who doesn’t want to become friends with a group of strong, young, intelligent, funny, beautiful women (and men)? If you are looking to make some new pals this semester, check outShe’s the First*{KU}.
2. Have Fun. If you enjoy baking cupcakes, creating events, and learning about women in a global context, She’s the First*{KU} is the club for you!
3. Feel Good. College can be stressful and the workload can sometimes break your spirit; She’s the First*{KU} can be a great outlet. They say it’s better to give than to receive and She’s the First*{KU} is all about giving.
4. Be a Voice for Women. Women around the world need your support. By joining She’s the First*{KU} , you can be an amazing role model to those around you.
5. Make a Difference in the World. Educating a women is extremely beneficial. If India educated just 1% more of it’s girls, its GDP would rise by 5.5 billion dollars; by joining She’s the First*{KU} , you can help make this happen.

She’s the First*{KU} will be hosting an informational meeting for anyone who is interested in learning more about their organization. The meeting will take place Monday Night at 7 p.m. in Alcove G, Kansas Union. This is open to anyone and everyone! They plan to cover everything from what exactly She’s the First*{KU} is to what kind of events they will be putting on this semester. If you can’t make it, don’t worry, you can still get involved!
