5 Songs To Listen To Post-Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at KU chapter.

If you’re reading this, you’re either done with finals or very ready to be. In either case, it’s time to get your playlist synced up to the relaxing tunes compiled here. So sit back, take a listen, and relax, because you’ve earned it!

1. Quiet- John Mayer

There are obviously a number of John Mayer tracks that could make this list, but “Quiet,” off his EP album, is pure bliss. It makes you wanna take a bubble bath and wash away the stress you had this semester.

2.  Smile- Nat King Cole

This one may seem a little out of place, but this classic jazz tune will literally make you smile. Maybe your finals didn’t go quite as well as you’d hoped, or maybe you’re just really missing your pals, but either way, this song will help you unwind and remember the good times.

3. All My Might- hunter & wolfe

Hunter & wolfe create this catchy, yet somber little tune that will make you want to head to the coffee shop and plan out your adventures for next school year. Join a new organization? Study abroad? Apply for an internship? Regardless, this song will make you relaxed and at ease with any of your decisions.

4. re:stacks- Bon Iver

Like John Mayer, there are a good number of Bon Iver songs that will calm you down and introduce you to summer the right way. I chose “re:stacks” for this list because there is a meditative element about it that just says “hey, you can take a break now,” even if your summer schedule is busier than you school year.

5. Leaving, on a Jet Plane- John Denver

This is the ultimate tune to check out if you’re traveling this summer. It creates the perfect bridge between departure and the new adventures that lie ahead- without stressing you out. The simplicity of guitar and Denver’s voice will mellow you out just in time for your summer plans.

I hope you had a chance to check out these great tunes by some especially remarkable artists. What songs do you listen to when you need a break? Let me know in the comment section below!
