5 Ways To Help You Wake Up In The Morning

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at KU chapter.

If you’re like me, you do NOT like getting up in the morning at all. And after my third day of waking up late and almost missing my class I have decided to do something about it (maybe).

So without further ado, here are five different ways to become more awake in the morning! *

*please do not sue me if these don’t work. It’s not guaranteed, ladies.

1. Take A Hot Shower.

Taking showers always woke me up when I was in high school, and it’s a great way to be refreshed in the morning to feel ready to take on the day.

2. Go For An Early Morning Workout.

I know, I know. I don’t like it either, but unfortunately it works. It circulates the blood in your body that’s been gathering dust throughout your night of slumber, causing you to feel more awake and refreshed.

3. Get Some Tunes On.

I don’t know about you, but for me, music is the key to everything. Plug in a little music to your speaker in the morning while you’re getting ready, you wouldn’t believe the impact it has!

4. Make Yourself Move.

This one is an oldie but goodie. Put your phone (or your alarm clock, if you’re still into that) far away from where you’re sleeping so that when it goes off, you’re forced to get out of your bed and get that blood flowing.

5. Drink Some Agua.

Have a glass of water sitting on your nightstand so as soon as you wake up, you can get a good dose of some H2O in. Drinking water in the morning stimulates your body to become more awake and hydrates you after you haven’t had any liquids for the past eight hours that you’ve been sleeping. Or if you’re like me, it’s more like four. Yikes.

Bonus: Get Good Sleep.

This is obvious, but make sure you get good sleep. If you only get a few hours of sleep a night, it not only affects your ability to wake up in the morning, but also your health.
