1. The freshman 15 is all too real. Seriously. You don’t want to find out the hard way. Go to the gym a lot and try to limit the number of nights per week you drunk order pizza.
2. Classes are hard. Do the work. Show up to class. Stay in the night before a big test. Your grades and GPA actually do matter.
3. FOMO is a thing. There is always something going on, but you really don’t have to go out every night—your wallet and liver will thank you.
4. The weekend starts on Thursday. It will quickly become your favorite day of the week. AKA, don’t take an 8 a.m. on Friday.
5. Parking on campus sucks, getting parking tickets sucks, walking sucks, but having good calves doesn’t. This is self-explanatory.
6. You will meet your lifelong friends. I’m talking future bridesmaids/groomsmen. Prepare to be introduced to some of the best people you’ll ever meet.
7. You will lose touch with some of your high school friends. But it’s okay.
8. You aren’t expected to have your life figured out. Just take it one day at a time.
9. It’s still not the real world. One step above high school, yes. But you haven’t made it yet. These are the best four years of your life—take advantage of them.
