When fall season comes creeping around every year, I always find myself desperate for a new wardrobe. It’s always such a struggle to piece together what I have in my closet to find the perfect outfit. Before class, it’s constantly a rush to put together something, and I feel like I’m never able to use my closet to the best of its ability.
Lately, I’ve been turning to Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok to help me envision what I want my style to be. I find that sometimes it can be hard to have a definite idea of what you want to wear and how you want to present yourself, so it can be helpful to follow influencers and celebrities that you’re able to take inspiration from.
One of my favorite people I follow is Malina Weissman. She’s an actress who you may know from Netflix’s “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” where she played Violet. I could best describe her style as cool and edgy streetwear looks that just give off an amazing energy. Long skirts, funky boots, and graphic tops fill her Instagram grid, and the way she pulls together her outfits gives me a new look on layering and accessorizing. When scrolling on TikTok the other day, I came across an influencer posting thrift hauls and outfit videos. @laylabalbuena has beautiful style, filled with dainty tops, chunky sweaters, and pastel yellows and pinks galores. Her videos have helped me appreciate the simplicity that a good look can have, and the difference adding gold hoops or a simple white sweater can make to an outfit.

I love her, and would also recommend following her sister as well. Both have unique ways of pairing their pieces to bring out a more interesting side to their clothing. Maybe my favorite TikTok influencer is Gabrielle, whose username is @gabipoopface (Ignore the username and focus on her fashion). I’m obsessed with her thrift hauls. She always seems to find the perfect fitting jeans and flannel that sit just right. She always has on a sweater that looks warm and cozy, yet fashionable. She makes me want to get back into thrifting, and she also has her depop linked to her TikTok if you ever want to shop her style.
