It’s October, which means Spooky Season has officially begun. This list showcases some of the best movies to enjoy throughout the month.

  1. Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
  • Tim Burton’s Disney film Nightmare Before Christmas is an amazing portrayal of a movie that showcases the theme of Halloween without horror involved, and it’s great to start or end the month.
  1. Get Out (2017)
  • While not Halloween-themed, the psychological horror, the camera angles and the acting all make this one of the most immersive horror movies out there, and a definite watch for October.
  1. Halloween (1978)
  • This is a horror classic, what makes Michael Myers all the more terrifying is his immediate and direct actions, no dialogue, just a killer out for blood. Given a choice between the remake and the original, choose the original, it’s always better.
  1. The Silence of The Lambs (1991)
  • While technically not a horror movie, the suspense, the acting and the whole story arc of Hannibal Lecter, as well as the killer out on the loose, make this film that much more terrifying to watch.
  1. The Wicker Man (1973)
  • Horror aside, this might just be one of the best representations of paganism on a horror film out there; it’s filled with suspense and anticipation all around.

This list might not be fully complete, there are a lot of great Halloween/Horror movies out there to watch this month, many of them amazing in their own right, but these ones on this list are most definitely worth the watch.
