Would it be nice if we all could buy what we wanted without looking at the price tag? Of course, unfortunately, that is not a reality for most of us, especially college students. Although in between searching for dupes and debating if I need a $5 lip gloss, there are some beauty splurges I cannot refuse.

Benetint

To quote the girlies, “If Benetint has one fan, it’s me. If it has none, I’m dead.” I LOVE this product with my whole heart. The color is gorgeous, and it is my everyday staple. I also have acne-prone skin, and some creme blushes can make me break out. Benetint has a water-based formula so it is perfect for my acne-prone skin. Spending $24 on a blush might feel like breaking the bank, but I’m happy to say this product has never broken my heart.

It’s a 10: Miracle Leave-In Conditioner

I recently returned from Thanksgiving break, and little did I know, I left half my toiletries back home. Unfortunately, this meant my sacred It’s a 10: Miracle Leave-In conditioner. My hair texture is thick, dry and wavy. So, a good leave-in is a MUST for me. I tried to find a cheaper alternative in the store, but none compared to my reliable It’s a 10. It’s a 10 is not the most budget-friendly leave-in, but for soft hydrated hair, I recommend forking over the $21.

(Any) High-Quality Perfume

Did you know that the stimuli most connected to memory is scent? It’s true, according to a journal from the National Library of Medicine, so if you want that boy in CHEM 152 to remember you get a good quality perfume. Most designer perfumes can start at upwards of $70, but they are worth it. My favorite is Coach Wild Rose, but find one that suits you. If that’s too out of your budget, maybe consider putting it on your holiday wish list or buying a travel size.

Ilia Limitless Lash Clean Mascara

I’m not an avid wearer of mascara. I have some sensory issues when it comes to my eyes. Most of the time, I find mascaras to be heavy and irritating. The Ilia Limitless Lash mascara was a gamer changer for me. It goes on smoothly and makes my lashes look gorgeous and oh-so-long. Plus, it does not bother my eyes! For me, the $28 was worth the spend, but you can also find a mini version for $13 at Sephora.

Tweezerman Classic Eyelash Curler

I know this sounds like a weird item, but hear me out. I don’t like mascara, except for my tried and true Ilia mascara (see above paragraph), but I love a curled lash. It is one of those things that I don’t feel like myself unless my lashes are curled. That being said, I have been through some eyelash curlers in my day. None of them compare to my Tweezerman Classic Eyelash Curler. Coming in at $15, this is not the most expensive item on the list, but when you can get an eyelash curler for $3, I can see the hesitancy. This product creates a gorgeous lift that will last all day. Plus, it has refillable pads and is durable.

So there you have it, five beauty items that even I can’t turn down. I highly encourage trying out some of these products and seeing if they are items that you would allow on your splurge list.
