This day brought so much joy to my childhood

In school, a red heart box sat on my lap

I wait patiently as much as I could

To start the Valentine’s party ASAP

As time went on, this joy became despair

Loneliness threatened to suffocate me

When all I could see was love in the air

And I had no one who filled me with glee

One day this despair blossomed into bliss

The love of my life came out of nowhere

And wreaked my life with peace and a sweet kiss

With him here, I know God answered my prayer

Now, Valentine’s Day is a week away

This year my joy is here to always stay
