Ever heard the rule “No White After Labor Day?” I think this fashion rule has long since been revoked. I don’t see the point in eliminating a specific color from your wardrobe just because some old rule says so. White is a neutral color, so how could you not wear it after Labor Day? (Although, I do prefer dark colors.) Here are some pictures of students proving this fashion rule wrong – in a very fashionable way!
Jessica Chang, junior, is showcasing two different ways on how white can accentuate any outfit. The top photo which features white, lacey shorts with a crop top and a jean jacket. Her look in the bottom photo showcases a white buttondown blouse tucked into black shorts. Each of these looks are great for a warm fall day or a night out. You can also check out her instagram @jchang__.
Emma Johnson, junior, was seen wearing a white top with blue jeans and white accents. Her tan blazer brings the whole outfit together. She works the white top as it offsets her bronze colored necklace. You can find more photos on her instagram @emmaatku.
Lastly, I tried the trend out myself one day. I paired a white tank, white my geometric patterned harem pants. Then I accessorized it with a black hat and black studded flats.
It just goes to show you that white can be used as a great accent color, even after Labor Day. These fashionable collegiates look good in white even after the holiday. Keep rocking it, Lady Jayhawks!
