Walking into my senior year of college at Kutztown University is a sad but exciting feeling. In this article, I will give some tips that I have learned and that have helped me succeed so far in my college experience!Â
- Organization
The faster you get yourself organized, the easier your semester will become. Personally, I have a planner where I write all of my assignments and events for each day. I update this the second I receive my syllabus; this way my assignments are already written down and I can plan out when to begin my assignments.Â
I also have a whiteboard calendar in my room, which has all my daily events for that day, and of course we have my google calendar as well, which says all of my events and classes.Â
- Time ManagementÂ
Managing your time in college is tricky but not impossible. Make sure to get all of your assignments done on time. I suggest not waiting until the last second because this makes your life so much harder and will cause some anxious feelings. Something I have always tried to do is have my assignments done 2 days before they are due. This way I give myself time to double check and revise assignments or make sure everything is completed on time.
- Get Involved
College is over in the blink of an eye. That being said, yes, you want to succeed academically, but you also want to have the best experience you can. Also, joining clubs can be amazing to add to a resume. I am a Secondary Education English major. My goal is to teach middle school english! I am a part of Her Campus which has helped my writing/blogging skills, Special Olympics which has given me the opportunity to work together with people who have autism, and I am a member of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority which has helped in many ways with public speaking, organization, and community service.Â
I hope all of these tips can help you achieve your goals this semester and have an amazing school year!
